Introducing WaxAlert.com — ChasingMajors Holiday Thank-You to the Hobby
This Thanksgiving/holiday season, we wanted to drop something meaningful for the hobby, a real gift, not another overhyped “beta” that crashes the moment it launches.
So here it is: WaxAlert.com, a completely free, no-login required, super-simple, actually-works tool built to help you track secondary-market wax prices (verified sales not listings) in real time without the nonsense.
And yes, it’s genuinely free thanks to the real MVPs, our Paid Newsletter subscribers, who help foot the bills so the rest of the hobby can enjoy sharp tools, smarter data, and fewer headaches. Running a website isn’t free, and the generosity of our paid readers tossing in a few bucks annually is exactly what makes projects like this possible.
In return, the ChasingMajors team gets to give something back to the greater hobby with zero expectation of anything in return. But if you want to support the mission and roll with our hobby friends, the paid newsletter is just $10 using this link, and it keeps projects like WaxAlert alive.
Now allow me to be real with you all. Is WaxAlert perfect right now? Not yet. But unlike certain other sites that rhyme with trype.com, it’s already way more functional, way more stable, and way less “we’re experiencing a system-wide technical issue”.
Personally I wanted more time to harden the site before launch, but honestly, the collectors who actually pay attention to what we’re building at ChasingMajors.com and in the newsletter deserved an early holiday gift. Even if its still maturing as a useful tool. In the meantime, we’ll keep improving it, tightening it, and leveling it up, because that’s what we do.
One feature that isn’t fully ready for prime time that I want to call out is our Products page. We’re building a true one-stop resource where you can check multiple online retailers for in-stock wax without bouncing around from site to site. We’re already aligned with a major card manufacturer and working with a few very large online retail partners to surface availability directly on one page. A working version will be up within the week, with a lot of expansion planned. There may even be an optional alert you can subscribe to for inbox notifications… but we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves.
Also we have not fully released data for back stock products like 2024 Topps Baseball or 1998 Fleer Premium Basketball, but the current new product releases are up and working as expected.
For now, enjoy the box price-lookup tool, bookmark it, share it, use it, and consider this our holiday thank-you to every collector who’s been part of the journey.
Happy Thanksgiving — and let’s keep building a better hobby in 2026.
